5 DAYS AMBOSELI, TSAVO WEST AND TSAVO EAST
A 5-day safari through Amboseli, Tsavo West, and Tsavo East offers a fantastic journey through some of Kenya’s most iconic landscapes. You’ll experience breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, see large elephant herds, explore volcanic terrain, and enjoy the vast wilderness of Tsavo. Here’s a detailed itinerary for your 5-day safari:
DAY 1: NAIROBI – AMBOSELI
Depart Nairobi in the early morning and drive 170kms towards Namanga on the Tanzania border and another 80kms to reach Amboseli in the early afternoon. Make game drive en route Amboseli Serena, check in at the lodge for lunch and later in the evening, depart for a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or similar.
DAY 2: AMBOSELI
Spend the day exploring the park. The waters from melted snow drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface on the Amboseli plains. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.
DAY 3: AMBOSELI – TSAVO WEST
After breakfast, leave for Tsavo West National Park. This is an approximately 125kms stretch that will take you almost 2 hours. Visit Chyulu hills and the Mzima springs which are favourite haunts for both hippo and crocodile that can be seen from an underwater observatory. Meals and overnight at Severin Camp or similar.
DAY 4: TSAVO WEST – TSAVO EAST
In the early morning, drive to Tsavo East, the largest park in Kenya and famed for its large herds of elephant covered in red dust and the fine scenery. Visit the scenic Lugard falls, Mudanda rock which attracts elephants in the drier season and Aruba dam as we view game. Meals and overnight at Voi Safari Lodge/ Voi wildlife/Ashnil Aruba.
DAY 5: TSAVO EAST – MOMBASA
Early morning game. Soon after breakfast proceed to Mombasa an approximately 200kms drive arriving in time for lunch in a restaurant in town. Later transfer to Southern Palms Beach Resort/ Neptune hotels for a beach holiday for your desired number of days.
